Puffy Pumpkins

With school in full force, those wonderful play dates are harder to come by. We had a brief get together with our dear friends which they squeezed between school, soccer games and drivers ed for the teenager. It was an hour of messy fun!
Inspiration came from Oopsey Daisy. Glue, shaving cream and mess!
Supplies needed:
Glue
Shaving cream
food coloring
card stock
punches
googly eyes
scissors
foam paint brushes
tape
string

Mix the shaving cream and glue in equal parts together and add food coloring. I pre printed pumpkins on the card stock and kids used the foam brushes to paint it. At this point don't turn your back on your 2 year old, he will likely try to flip it over and paint the back side too.

Punch circles for eyes and cut out a mouth. You can place these directly onto the shaving cream mixture. Both big kids decided to have more than 2 eyes. Add the googly eyes on the circles with glue. I had the foam stems and leaves from another project for the kids, but my original was hand cut.

After letting them dry for 24 hours I cut them and taped string to the back to hang in the play room. This project only took 10 minutes and ended up not being too messy! Next I think we will make them again and glue them to the back so they are two sided. Are you guys ready for a recipe post? Stay tuned!

  1. I love your tutorials. The leaf banner is great. I want to try something with leaves next Fall(too many projects on the to do list for this year) but your pictures and recipes are so inviting. The pumpkin project for kids is pretty cool to mixing glue and shaving cream. Thanks for sharing.
